What to AVOID on a tight budget · the OLX trap
MacBook Air 2017-2019 (Intel · A1466, A1932): Apple has dropped or is about to drop macOS support. Battery is 5-7 years old, will need replacement within 12 months. Fans run constantly. The apparent 'saving' costs you a laptop in 18 months.
MacBook Pro 13-inch Intel 2016-2019 (A1706, A1989, A2159): Butterfly keyboards = repair risk. Touch Bar = unloved feature. Thermal throttling under any sustained load. Avoid.
Activation-locked units: a suspiciously cheap 'M1 Air' on OLX with no charger included = likely Activation Locked or stolen. iCloud locked Macs are bricks until original Apple ID signs out, which thieves cannot do. Walk away.
